In the capital, legendary historic stables known to local historians as the Popandopulo and Konovalets houses are being sold. They were built in the century before last and are now protected by law.

More than $6 million for historical monuments

In the Shevchenkivskyi city district, two buildings listed in the register of architectural and historical monuments of local significance are being sold. “A complex of buildings at 24A Sichovykh Striltsiv Street with a total area of 3.7 thousand square meters is being sold together with 61 acres of land. The intended purpose is housing, multifunctional complexes, offices, trade/entertainment, social and cultural purposes, etc. The price for the entire complex is $6.5 million,” writes Kyiv Information.

Buildings are sold “for reconstruction.”

The old buildings are in disrepair, but there is no official permission for reconstruction. According to the law, they cannot be dismantled, rebuilt, reconstructed, or “built into” other buildings. Currently, the premises are empty. It is unlikely that the local business people purchasing the facilities will restore them to preserve their historical authenticity. But the Bessarabian Barracks will be sold. These buildings “survived” the change of several historical eras. It is not known what fate awaits them in the future.

У Шевченківському районі міста продаються два будинки, які занесені у реєстр пам’яток архітектури та історії місцевого значення. “Комплекс будівель по вул. Січових Стрільців, 24А загальною площею 3,7 тис кв.м. продаються разом з 61 соткою землі. Цільове призначення – житло, багатофункціональні комплекси, офіс, торгівля/розваги, соціально-культурне призначення тощо. Ціна за весь комплекс складає 6,5 млн доларів”, – пише “Київський інформатор”.

Будинки продають “під реконструкцію”

Старовинні будівлі мають аварійний стан, але офіційного дозволу на реконструкцію немає. Згідно з законом їх не можна демонтувати, репебудовувати, реконструювати та “вбудовувати” в інші споруди. Наразі приміщення пустують. Навряд чи місцеві бізнесмени, які придбають обєкти, будуть відновлювати їх з метою збереження історичної автентичності. Але Бесарабські казарми таки продаватимуть. Ці споруди “пережили” зміну кількох історичних епох. Не відомо, яка доля чекає їх надалі.
