The National Electronic Exchange has posted an announcement about the lease of Zhytniy Market, located in Podil, Kyiv. The object is planned to be “launched” through an auction.
New lease terms
The old market’s structures are in a state of disrepair. A lot of funding is needed to restore the location. Therefore, it was decided to lease the Zhytniy Market to business people who could keep it in good condition. According to the lease agreement terms, the new owner must overhaul or reconstruct the covered market, including the roof, utilities, and communications, within six months of signing the document. “The auction is scheduled for March 25. The starting price for the building lease with an area of more than 11,000 square meters is UAH 2.5 million,” writes Ukrainsky Doshch.
History of the oldest market location
Zhytniy Market is the most respected market in Kyiv by age. Since the 15th century, it has been known as the main trading point of the capital and surrounding villages. People from all over the city come to the Zhytniy Market twice a year. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the market became the center of the Kurenivka uprising against the Bolsheviks in Kyiv.
“In 1980, a new building of the Zhytniy Covered Market was opened, designed by architects O. Monina, V. Shtolko, and designer B. Bednarsky. On the occasion of the celebration of the 1500th anniversary of Kyiv, the market’s facade was decorated with a metal panel “From the Barbarians to the Greeks” by artist Anatolii Domnych,” adds Ukrainian Rain.

На Національній електронній біржі з’явилось оголошення, в якому йдеться про pдачу в оренду Житнього ринку, що знаходиться на столичному Подолі. Об’єкт планують “запустити” через аукціон.

Нові умови оренди

Конструкції старого ринку знаходяться в аварійному стані. Щоб відновити локацію. потрібне чимале фінансування. Тому Житній ринок вирішили здати в оренду бізнесменам, які зможуть утримувати його в належному стані. Згідно з умовами договору оренди новий власник повинен провести капітальний ремонт або здійснити реконструкцію критого ринку, включно з дахом, інженерними мережами й комунікаціями протягом шести місяців від дати підписання документу. “Аукціон заплановано на 25 березня. Початкова ціна оренди будівлі площею понад 11 тисяч квадратних метрів — 2,5 мільйона гривень”, – пише видання “Український дощ”.

Історія найдавнішої базарної локації

Житній ринок – найповажніший за віком у всьому Києві. Ще з XV століття він був відомий як основна торгівельна точка столиці та навколишніх сіл. Двічі на рік на Житню ярмарку приїжджали мешканці з усіх міст. На початку ХХстоліття ринок став центром Куренівського повстання проти більшовиків у Києві.
